Join us for an informal discussion with Professor Kate Starbird about the ways in which online information and disinformation are affecting the upcoming midterm elections, and how false claims of election fraud could be used to make it harder to vote.
Kate Starbird is a Professor at the University of Washington in the Department of Human Centered Design and Engineering. She has conducted extensive research on, among other things, “toxic online spaces that are increasingly (re)shaping discourse, values, and politics around the world.” More recently her research team has examined the ways in which WNBA players are portrayed online.
