This month's book club selection is:
THE VALLEYS OF THE ASSASSINS by Freya Stark
British-Italian explorer Freya Stark chronicles her travels across Luristan — a mountainous region near Iraq and present-day Iran -- in this engaging travelogue from 1934. Stark details her encounters with the nomadic groups living in the valleys and shares stories and entertaining commentary on the history of the area and the ancient Middle Eastern kingdoms that once existed there.
Our virtual book club is open to anyone who likes to read! Current themes for the club are TRAVEL and SPY NOVELS Meetings take place on the last Thursday of every month.
