About the event
The Tacoma As A Welcoming City event will offer participants an overview of the rights, challenges, and lived experiences of immigrants in Tacoma. Intended for immigrants and those who work closely with immigrant communities—such as educators, advocates, and community partners—the program will explore the local historical context of immigration, provide guidance on the current legal environment, and highlight available services and resources. Through a combination of presentations and a panel discussion with local organizations, attendees will gain practical information, learn about their rights, and better understand how Tacoma continues to build itself as a welcoming city.
