By the date of this event, the Biden Administration’s comprehensive review of trade policy with China will be complete. As you know, trade and overseas market access are key component of our economic vitality in the Pacific Northwest. What will the impact of changes to the former administration’s policy bring for us? What changes and ramifications can we expect with regard to other foreign policy areas such as security, technology, human rights, etc.? What are the prospects for the administration to be able to balance cooperation and competition?
Join the World Trade Center Tacoma and the World Affairs Council Tacoma as Sam Kaplan, author of the newly-published, Challenging China: Smart Strategies for Dealing with China in the Xi Jinping Era shares his views on these and other questions. Sam has worked with and in China for thirty plus years and is currently the director of the Washington State Center of Excellence for Global Trade and Supply Chain Management. WTC Tacoma’s Senior Trade Consultant, Mike Fowler, will moderate and take questions from attendees.
